Record breaking local Filmmakers launch new film

The team behind the Queen of Trees are celebrating their return to Cornwall and the highly successful launch of their brilliant new film screened on the BBC this November.

THE QUEEN OF TREES
BBC Natural World

Husband and wife team Victoria Stone and Mark Deeble’s UK business is based near Penzance. They hold the record for the highest audience figures for a natural history film on both BBC and ITV (for different films). They are widely considered to be the best natural history filmmakers in the world, for their storytelling, for their unusual selection of subject matter for their films, and for their extraordinary photography.

They have won multiple awards including an Emmy, a Peabody and six ‘wildlife Oscars’. They are an extraordinary couple who film, direct, write and produce all their own work while bringing up their two young sons (Jacca 10 & Freddy 12) between Cornwall and the African wilderness.

Their last four films have been shot in Africa and each is the product of up to two years living under canvas in the remote bush and home schooling their two young sons whilst they run daily risks living in the wild. They are completely fearless and at one with nature – the real life ”Wild Thornberry’s”. Both are qualified divers and pilots.

Their latest film tells the extraordinary story of an African fig tree and the special relationship it has with a tiny insect partner. The story is one of the most amazing in the natural world – a pinnacle of co-evolution and a tale of intrigue and drama.
