FREE ENTRY TO THE CELTIC FILM AND TV FESTIVAL

Cornwall Film has 20 bursaries available to media practitioners in Cornwall for the March event.

The Celtic Film and Television Festival 2006 will be held from Wednesday 29 to Friday 31 March at the UCF Tremough Campus, Penryn, Falmouth.

The festival offers a unique opportunity to meet others in the industry, particularly broadcasters and commissioners who can help you to get your projects made.

Some fantastic Cornish projects have been selected for the festival - Paper Mountain, First Breath, Govynn Kernewek winner De Sul, A Picture of the South West by Kurt Jackson, Two Thirds Water, and The Teaching Challenge: Rick Stein. In new media, farmerfilm.com and gorsethkernow.org.uk have been highlighted, as has interactive material on The Singing Lions.

After the success of one to ones held at the Cornwall Film Festival, Cornwall Film will be ensuring that one-to-ones with high profile industry representatives are available to Cornish practitioners.

Cornish films screened at the Cornwall Film Festival will be made available in the video library; and screened in the conference centre. If you would like to publicise yours in particular, get in touch!

Applicants must be based in Cornwall, actively working in the local media sector, and available to attend all three days of the festival. The bursaries are here to support applicants who want to promote the Cornish media industry and their role in this; who can demonstrate a commitment to learn and a desire to make the most of the festival’s networking opportunities. We will help you!

The final deadline for applications is 6 March 2006. Decisions will be made on 10 March.
