Invitation to Tender

We are commissioning several online case studies and a compilation DVD.

The online case studies and DVD will illustrate Cornwall’s distinctive talent base and potential for future growth, promoting our dynamic, creative and innovative film, TV and digital media sector. They will showcase the commissioned producer and the local talent featured, highlighting recent activity to develop a sustainable media industry in Cornwall.

To fund the entire package of activities detailed below, we have a maximum budget of £10,000 including VAT (ideally less):

STAGE 1: ONLINE CASE STUDIES

• A short internet-friendly documentary consisting of 5-6 x 2 minute case studies of Cornish companies / projects supported by Cornwall Film. These case studies will be fast-paced and engaging, demonstrating the wide range of companies, expertise and aspirations in Cornwall; and the diversity of projects supported by Cornwall Film. The short case studies are likely to include project footage and interviews. Featured companies / individuals will be selected by Cornwall Film. To be provided as Digibeta and mini DV masters.

• Format the existing trailer (already commissioned and delivered) and the newly created documentary case studies to be made available online, accessible to a wide range of users.

• Design and create a new page of the Cornwall Film website that features the case studies and trailers. This page may also feature other projects supported by Cornwall Film, such as the Digital Shorts.

STAGE 2: DVD

• Design and build a 90 min DVD of short Cornish films (complete films, not excerpts). The DVD will include the trailer, documentary case studies, and a selection of local shorts such as those screened at the Cream of Cornish Shorts screening at Channel 4 in 2006. Cornwall Film will provide the films at as high a resolution as possible - on digibeta, mini DV or DVD.

• Design and print case; Produce 500 copies of the DVD

• Distribute DVDs by post to producers/agents/talent spotters/funders. Cornwall Film will provide addresses and covering letters. The selected company will be responsible for packaging and posting the DVDs.

Timetable

Cornwall Film will agree a schedule with the successful candidate to include meetings at rough cut / early design stages. The DVD will have been completed, approved and distributed by 14 May 2007. All online material should be completed, approved and accessible online by 14 May 2007.

Cornwall Film requests tenders from companies interested in providing all or part of the project outlined above. The deadline for tenders will be Monday 26 February 2007. Tenders should include:

• Description of your relevant experience
• Outline of your candidate’s creative vision for the project
• Detailed budget
• Anticipated schedule of delivery.
• Visual material that demonstrates your ability to deliver this project
