Last Chance to Apply for Specialist MentoringApplication deadline is 10 August 2007.Are you working in animation, film, broadcast, or digital media? Do you need help to develop your great idea for a film, TV or digital media project? Would you like to work with an expert who can point your business in the right direction, provide support to develop your project effectively to reach your audience, get you great publicity or provide access to key contacts, research and funding? Or perhaps you would benefit from individual help to hone your technical skills, or guidance on how to make the most of new technology? Specialist Mentoring can be provided in the development and marketing of proposals, proofs of concept and screenplays, legal issues, business planning, executive production and distribution, or other areas where you feel your business would benefit. You may know what you need but not where to look for it or you might already have the ideal person in mind. Either way, this scheme can help provide an opportunity for you to work together. You don't need any match funding, just a clear idea of how you can grow your skills and business. Creative Skills can provide investment of up to £1000 per mentor (this usually covers up to 4 days work with them), plus travel costs if the mentor is based outside Cornwall. This contribution is paid direct to the mentor. Beneficiaries have to match this in kind with their time. Investments are being managed by Cornwall Film. Three awards of £1000 will be made, supported by Creative Skills and the European Skills Fund. We may also be able to contribute towards travel costs for you or your mentor. Successful applicants will work with their mentors for a minimum of 3 months, with all mentoring completed by 30 November 2007. You must be based in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly to be eligible to apply for the scheme. Application forms and guidelines can be downloaded here. If you would like us to send you a hard copy, please call Pippa or Miranda on 01872 240 900. The deadline for applications is 10 August 2007. You will need to submit an expression of interest to Cornwall Film first - more information on this is in the guidelines. |
