Visit the Media ExchangeCome along to our networking event on 19 September in Redruth.Media Centre for Cornwall and Cornwall Media Focus invite you to: THE MEDIA EXCHANGE The Melting Pot Café, Redruth Grammar School Wednesday 19 September 6 – 9pm Back in April, attendees of Cornwall Media Focus and Media Centre for Cornwall’s successful networking event expressed a desire to do it again – more often – in more places. So media speed dating is back (no romance required) - along with a discussion of what we would like to learn/do together in the future, and the next stage for the writers/directors/actors groups. We're arranging a get-together every two months: Wednesday 19 September – Redruth Saturday 10 or Sunday 11 November – Falmouth, Cornwall Film Festival January 08 – North Cornwall or Caradon (please send us ideas of where you would like to meet!) March 08 – Penzance We want to feature you at these sessions. Would you like to find partners to work on your project? To meet actors to try out a screenplay reading? To screen a showreel or tell the world what you do? To discuss your work with other writers? To share camera or editing tips? However you’d like to move forward, we’d like these sessions to create practical opportunities for you to do so. We'll schedule some ten minute slots at each event for individuals or groups to introduce themselves. You could use this to share some of your specialist skills, ask for help on a particular project or to set up a group to look at a specific area that interests you. Bring your ideas along to Redruth in September, and we’ll see what we can all do. Please RSVP to office@cornwallfilm.com for the September event. Feel free to send us any ideas for how you would like to use the session in the meantime. And as soon as there is more information on Convergence funding, we also hope to organise a longer Open Space session to discuss the future of Cornwall’s media industry. |
