What's Next for Cornwall Film?Local Media Taskforce informs future activity as Project Director takes maternity leave.Project Director of Cornwall Film, Pippa Best is off on maternity leave from 7 February 2008. She says "I have really enjoyed running Cornwall Film and working with so many of you over the past years. I'm really proud of what we have all achieved together, and look forward to a bright future for Cornwall's media industry. For now, I'm off to concentrate on my next challenge, leaving you in the capable hands of Miranda Adams, Mark Leaver and the Media Taskforce. While the future isn't yet clear, I very much hope to come back as and when we have a new media development project up and running." In the meantime, Miranda Adams will be running Cornwall Media Focus (the network), and Mark Leaver at South West Screen will be covering some of Pippa's strategic work, supported by a locally led Media Taskforce. The Media Taskforce is made up of Cornwall Film's original board, plus representatives of potential project partners and businesses from the film, TV, digital media, design and ICT sectors. The Media Taskforce is the key advocate for the development of a new Cornwall Media project to build on the work of Cornwall Film and others, based on the evaluation of Cornwall Film and more recent feedback received from the sector. As soon as there is any news and/or an opportunity to consult more widely, we will of course let you all know. |
