Tate St Ives on the 11th, and Cornwall Film Festival on the 20th.

MEET THE TALENT

Friday, 11th November, 6.30 to 9 pm
Venue: The Tate, St Ives

You’d be amazed how many highly talented, highly experienced media (film, TV, video, new media) practitioners there are based in Cornwall. Some work here and some work nationally and internationally. You’d be even more surprised at how little we all know about what these practitioners are up to and believe me, some of them are up to really exciting things.

This event will hopefully be the first of a regular opportunity to come and meet some of the Industry’s top practitioners, see their showreels and listen to their views on living and working in Cornwall and then get a chance to talk to them in informal discussion.

The Launch Event’s speakers will include (more to come):

Morgan Francis – An Animator and Co-Director of SpiderEye.
Based in St Just, SpiderEye specialise in 2D and 3D animation. Their films include: War Game; Jester Till; A Small Miracle; Cheeky; Father & Daughter and The Squire's Tale. For more info go to: www.spider-eye.com

Elvira “Ello” Bolz – Producer and Production Manager for FilmRoses.
Ello has worked in the Industry for over 20 years. Her credits as a Producer include: Best (2000), Words upon the Windowpane, The Bridge of San Luis Rey (2004), Curse this House. She has also worked as a Production Manager on 21 Rosamunde Pilcher films for German TV.

Trisha Clarke – Documentary Director/Producer.
After directing news features for the BBC she moved into making documentary films for British broadcasters. Films include: Responses (cross cultural responses between Japan and the West - for Artline Films, The Vital Link (interpreting and translating in today''s world) for F.1.T. Celebration of Poetry for Childsplay Productions.

This launch event will be held in the unique surroundings of the Tate in St Ives with wine, beer, soft drinks and a lovely selection of nibbles. The evening will be open to everyone working in Cornwall ’s media sector and FREE of charge. It will also include a screening of the new 2005 Cornwall Film Festival trailer, hot off the press with a chance to pick up the programme for the Festival which starts the following week.
