Don't miss this great event in Truro on 21 May.

Creative Skills and Cornwall Film are bringing key players in the UK TV industry to Cornwall to meet local talent and explore new programme ideas on 21 May 2007 in Truro.

Presented by industry experts Top TV Academy, the event will feature a range of speakers from across the broadcast industry including Liz Mills, ex Head of Reality TV for Endemol UK Productions – makers of Big Brother, Fame Academy and Changing Rooms. Liz launched Pet Rescue and The Salon and as Executive Producer at the BBC she ran Crimewatch UK and a host of other popular factual programmes.

Visiting speaker Chantal Rutherford Browne is Commissioning Executive for Lifestyle, UK TV. Chantal commissions programmes for all the UKTV channels – these include UKTV Documentaries, UKTV Style, UKTV Style Gardens, UKTV Food, UKTV Drama, UKTV Bright Ideas, and UKTV History.

This unique workshop on 21 May provides a rare chance for media practitioners in Cornwall to make direct contact with the wider factual programming industry without having to travel all the way to London. Pippa Best, Project Director at Cornwall Film says “This event is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about what TV commissioners are looking for right now and to showcase Cornwall’s potential to the movers and shakers who can get programmes made.”

This event is subsidised by Creative Skills and consequently places will only cost £15.To reserve a place, contact Creative Skills [1] as soon as possible on 01209 218879 or email admin@creativeskills.org.uk [2].
