How to applyPlease note that all funding schemes are currently closed. Before submitting your application form, you need to submit a short written Expression of Interest. This should be no more than one A4 page and should outline what you want to apply for and why. More details on this can be found in the guidelines for each fund. Cornwall Film staff will then discuss your needs with you and advise you on the appropriate fund and application procedure. If appropriate, we will invite you in to the office for a meeting to discuss the best way to present your application. We are here to help you make the best of your project and to assist in the application process, so please do contact us if you have any questions. Application forms and guidelines are available for each fund. These can be downloaded here or are available by post if you send us a stamped addressed envelope (please mark on the back of the envelope the section of the Fund that you wish to apply to). Additional information required is listed on each form. What will happen to my application?Any awards for more than £5K will be sent for assessment by an independent assessor in addition to being considered by the Project Director. Decisions on who receives funding are made by a Selection Panel. This includes independent specialists and at least two members of the Cornwall Film Management Board. We promise to treat all applicants equally and fairly. The Project Director will present your application and any independent assessor's report to the Selection Panel. This panel will decide whether to accept or reject the application. We will give you this decision as soon after that meeting as we can. The Project Director is not a voting member of the Selection Panel and can be lobbied as much as you like. However, any attempt to secure support for an individual application from a member of the Management Board or Selection Panel will result in automatic rejection of your application. Applications for all funds for sums under £5K can now be processed by a smaller Selection Panel every 6-8 weeks - allowing us to respond more efficiently to the immediate needs of freelancers and beneficiaries. Selection Panels for the UNDER £5K FAST TRACK are made up of the Project Director and two members of the Management Board with appropriate areas of expertise. What if my application is unsuccessful? We have limited funds available and very high targets to meet. Sadly, some applicants will not be successful. We envisage that sometimes an application may be referred back for more information or for further specified work but normally a 'no' will mean that there can be no further application to us for funding for that project. There is no appeal procedure against decisions by the Fund. However, you are free to apply to the Fund for funding for another project if you wish. Even if we can?t make a direct investment in you and your company, we hope to help you to develop your contacts and specialist knowledge via Cornwall Media Focus. And if my application is successful?Successful applicants will receive an offer letter from Cornwall Film and, in most cases, a long-form contract. Copies of these standard agreements will be available (eventually via our website) and we strongly advise that during the application process applicants satisfy themselves that they would be willing to enter into such an agreement. These standard agreements cannot be varied (although amendments may be considered if pre-existing terms with other parties are advised to us at the time of application). If you are successful, we will explain fully our monitoring and reporting requirements. We reserve the right in some circumstances to terminate an award or withhold payments or to ?take over? a production at our sole and absolute discretion. Your failure to fulfil all or any part of your agreement with us could lead to you having to repay the money already advanced. However, we will make all this very clear in our offer to you and we will continue to be available to give advice throughout the time you are funded by us. There will be other requirements, such as screen credits for the EU and Cornwall Film. Again, you will have full details before you commit to our offer. If you receive investment, we can also help you to deliver your project by providing mentoring and other support. If you want to reach new markets, grow your specialist skills, develop innovative, ambitious and commercial projects and products, we?ll do our best to help you. We want Cornwall Film to be the most successful organisation of its kind. That success will depend on you as much as on us. We look forward to receiving your application. Good luck. |
